CashTamer.com was founded in 2015 in Castle Rock, Colorado, USA.

As a self-employed software developer, our founder was always looking for an efficient way to manage the various obligations that come with being self-employed. Things such as federal taxes, state taxes, salary, insurance, fees, etc.

While serving on the Castle Rock Town Council, as both a council member and mayor, our founder became exposed to the concept of fund accounting, which is how the town manages all of its obligations. Things such as police, fire, water, parks, streets, etc.

Our founder decided to apply the concept of fund accounting to his business. As revenue was received it would be divided up into various funds that track specific obligations like federal and state taxes. This was initially done using spreadsheets. The concept proved so successful and provided such incredible insights into his business that he began using the fund accounting concept with his personal finances as well. This proved equally successful.

Eventually, the use of spreadsheets to track all of these various funds became too unwieldy. It was at this point that our founder began development of CashTamer.com as a more efficient way to track all of the various funds.

After several years of development CashTamer.com was born and has proved invaluable ever since. Now, tracking cash is much easier than using spreadsheets and can be done anywhere there is an internet connection and a computer or a mobile device.
